The month of July always brings a sports lull. Sports fans are enjoying the Major League Baseball All-Star Break Festivities, but they are anxious for the rapidly approaching NFL and NCAA football seasons. Despite three of the four major sports being out of season, this past week still had its share of highlights and outstanding performances. The Mets are on fire, the Red Sox have taken the lead back in the AL East, Riccardo Ricco won two stages of the Tour de France, Kyle Busch continues to dominate both the Nationwide and Sprint Cup circuits, Paula Creamer shot an absurd round of 60 and Philadelphia and San Jose will meet for the Arena Bowl title. Here are the latest RootZoo award winners. Enjoy the All-Star Festivities!

RootZoo Athlete of the Week: C.C. SabathiaThere were many questions surrounding Sabathia after he was traded from the Indians to the Brewers. Would he struggle to adjust to the National League? He went out and won his first two starts, posting a 2.67 ERA and a 1.27 WHIP while striking out 14 in 15 innings, including a complete game against the Reds on Sunday, a game in which he also helped his own cause by hitting his second home run of the season. The home run made him the first pitcher to homer in both leagues in the same season since 1970. Behind both Sabathia and Ben Sheets, the Brewers have two aces and a legitimate chance to win the NL Central division. Congratulations, C.C. Sabathia!

RootZoo Team of the Week: New York Mets***A special thanks to lindydawgs8 for the following write-up about the RootZoo Team of the Week:

The Mets, winners of 9 straight, have climbed to within a 1/2 game of 1st place in the NL East. Jerry Manuel has this team rolling. Their pitching has been dominant. They had 3 shutouts in 5 games and also allowed no more than three hits in five consecutive games. The bullpen has been stellar. The Mets bats have come alive, led by Beltran, Reyes and All-Star David Wright. There has also been the re-emergence of Fernando Tatis.

1) Congratulations, once again to AGENTZER00, our RootZoo Baseball Challenge winner, who witnessed home run derby history tonight as Josh Hamilton sent 28 balls over the fence in one round. AGENTZER00 will also see the All-Star game tomorrow night at Yankee Stadium as the second half of his prize package. There will be a new MLB contest announced sometime Wednesday, so keep an eye out for this and be ready for a great finish to the baseball season!

2) Keep the great Video Blitz videos coming in. With over 40 videos already submitted, things are shaping up as we reach the halfway point of July. There are some very impressive videos already in the mix. Does the winner sit among these 40+, or will the second half of the month bring us even better videos? It’s definitely not too late to make yours. If you haven’t seen any of these videos yet, I’d suggest you have a look here.

3) A new look to the articles section will launch within the very near future. Among other things, the new format will aim to give the best articles and writers the recognition they deserve. Be on the lookout for this and let us know your thoughts about it once it’s here.

4) Feel like predicting this year’s World Series winner? This year’s NL batting champ and this year’s AL MVP and Cy Young winner? The first NBA player to score 50 points in a game this upcoming season? Feel like wagering points on these things? If the answer was yes to any of those questions, there’s good news – a new pick ‘em futures section is in the works. This will allow you to place point wagers on a handful of future events in the sports world.

That’s all the news for today. This coming Wednesday will mark what many call the most uneventful day in the sports world but I’m sure we’ll all find ways to keep each other busy despite the lack of sports. Keep it clean and drama free, and let’s make it a great week!

Lady Gaga was the 1st to arrive and sure enough left a extended effect. But people seeing were left startled and unsure of what to gain of Lady Gaga’s entrance at the musicians last night. The vocalist came out on the red carpet wearing a white tiered Francesco Scognamiglio set with a white pompadour wig which could make Amy Winehouse frightened away. And while Gaga left to the vision than we are used to.Safety regulations at the Pop bands, which is going to take place tonight at Earls Court in London.Kasabian’s front-man Tom Meighan was saying that “There will be a big screen fire, it’ll be psychedelic. Another week in the world of sports has come and gone, marked as always with its share of highlights and heartaches. Experience prevailed over youth in the Stanley Cup Finals, as the veteran Detroit Red Wings defeated the young Pittsburgh Penguins in six games. The Boston Celtics won the first two games of the NBA Finals against the Los Angeles Lakers. Ozzie Guillen’s rant has the White Sox fired up, as they, the Angels and the Phillies all had tremendous weeks in baseball. Rafael Nadal continued to make any clay court his personal playground, winning the men’s French Open title, while Ana Ivanovic won the woman’s title. Big Brown didn’t only lose the Triple Crown at the Belmont Stakes, but finished dead last as Da’ Tara galloped to victory. Without further ado, here are this week’s award winners.

Rafael Nadal: RootZoo Athlete of the Week

When discussing nominees for this week’s Athlete of the Week Award, RootZoo creator Jesse Boskoff stated the following: “Hands down it’s Rafael Nadal this week. I’ll quit my job if it isn’t.” Fortunately for all of us, Nadal ran away with the award, garnering 45% of your votes. Despite the many great sports performances and accomplishments this past week, it’s hard to argue that anyone is more deserving than Nadal. It’s difficult to fathom just how dominant he was at the French Open. He didn’t just win it for the fourth straight time to improve to 28-0 there. The King of Clay did not lose a single set throughout the entire tournament, and only lost four games in the three set final against the world’s number one ranked player, Roger Federer, who he made look silly in a 6-1, 6-3, 6-0 victory. Congratulations, Rafael Nadal!

Detroit Red Wings: RootZoo Team of the Week***A special thanks to Rlightning27 this week for the following writeup about the RootZoo Team of the Week:

The Detroit Red Wings have become the Stanley Cup Champions by beating the Pittsburgh Penguins in 6 games. This is the 11th time the Red Wings have won the Stanley Cup in franchise history. The veteran Red Wings beat the young, athletic Penguins with ease for the most part winning the 4 games by a score of 4-0, 3-0, 2-1, and 3-2. Henrik Zetterberg earned the Conn Smythe Trophy as playoff MVP. ____________________________________________________________________________________ WEEKLY AWARD WINNERS

Some RootZoo News1) Trivia. Thanks to all of you for the overwhelmingly high level of participation we’ve had in the trivia section. As of right now, 1853 questions have been created and 63,394 guesses cast. This is incredible considering the section was launched just three days ago. A big thank you to all of you who contributed, as the quality of questions asked is really high and I find myself playing around with the section more than I probably should. Keep an eye out for a trivia leaderboard within the next few days (sortable by sport too) and a few more minor enhancements in the near future.

2) As many of you know by now, there’s a new #1 at RootZoo and I’d like to thank you all once again for the major point contributions we received from so many members. Cowboys247 will remain atop the leaderboard for another month, at which point an honorary RootZoo page will be created in his memory. At the same time, a new level (500,000 points) will be named in honor of our fallen RootZooer and the incredible son of his that we’re all privileged to share part of our day with. Thanks again.

3) If you have a fantasy baseball team and haven’t been keeping up, Dr. Stat and The Fantasy Fox have done an excellent job at bringing you the news in fantasy baseball every day of the week. Check out our MLB FantasyZone for the latest news, updated throughout the day. In addition to this, Dr. Stat has two weekly columns, Dr. Stat’s Waiver Prescription (the best looking free agent pickups for the week) and Dr. Stat’s Fantasy Thermometer (a who’s hot/who’s not in the fantasy baseball world). In addition, Dr. Stat hosts a weekly chat Wednesday nights at 7pm ET, and The Fantasy Fox does the same each weekend. Any and all of your fantasy questions can be answered during this hourlong chat. Take full advantage – it’s all free.

4) RecruitZoo Round 3. The third edition of RecruitZoo will begin later this week…with a twist. RecruitZoo will take the form of a video contest, and a very substantial grand prize will go to the winner, along with a guaranteed RootZoo t-shirt to everyone who participates. The name of the game will be making a crazy, creative, funny video that promotes RootZoo and convinces other sports nuts around the world to join. Stay tuned for specific contest details and start your planning now!

5) More to come, that’s a promise.

Artificial Photosynthetic Foam wins Earth Awards 2010

17 September 2010: Revolutionary artificial foam which captures and converts the sun’s energy more effectively than living organisms, has won The Earth Awards 2010.

The Photosynthetic Foam won the $ 50,000 prize after being selected from over 500 entries from around the world. The team pitched to an audience of leading CEOs and investors at a Dragon’s Den style Summit held in partnership with the Financial Times at Marlborough House, London.

University of Cincinnati Professors David Wendell’s and Carlo Montemagno’s Photosynthetic Foam is a more land efficient means of producing biofuels because it is not reliant on soil as it is a synthetic material.

The UC Professors’ manufactured system of photosynthesis means that all captured energy is converted to sugars, unlike natural plant photosynthesis where a large amount of energy is used to maintain the life of the organism. In short, the foam is a far more efficient and versatile energy production platform, presenting new opportunities for developments in the field of renewable energy.

Professor Wendell explains: “The great aspect of Artificial Photosynthetic Foam is that it can practically contribute to a better tomorrow – which is exactly what the Earth Awards is about. Whether it’s the environment or the economy, this process has the potential to transform humanity’s approach to energy production and make an immediate positive contribution to reducing harmful carbon emissions.”

The Earth Awards, which identifies viable ideas from fashion to architecture and consumer products, and marries them with investors to provide a real solution to improving quality of life, is the only global innovation awards where the aim is to give the designer the means to enter the worldwide consumer marketplace.

Earth Awards judge Richard Branson adds: “The world’s population is united through the huge environmental and social challenges we face. Real innovation is needed if we are to discover products and technologies which can tackle these head on. The Earth Awards brings together people from all walks of life, who share the same objective – to challenge us to rethink the way we live today and present solutions to improve the world of tomorrow.”

Nicole Ting Yap, Founder of The Earth Awards, concludes: “The Earth Awards is about providing an aspirational platform for consumer-driven ideas, which can challenge designers to build a new economy. Artificial Photosynthetic Foam is a fantastic technological development which has real potential to drive positive change.”

Selected finalists are being showcased at HRH The Prince of Wales’ Start initiative to inspire people to build a better future. They are appearing at Start’s ‘A Garden Party to Make a Difference’, at Clarence House, Marlborough House and Lancaster House gardens until 19th September 2010.

This Social Media News Release is available at:- http://blogit.realwire.com/Major-Global-Innovation-Award-Finds-New-Solution-To-The-Earths-Energy-Needs

The Earth Awards is an aspirational platform for consumer-driven ideas that challenge designers and innovators to build a new economy. It is the only truly global awards dedicated to identifying viable designs which have the potential to improve our quality of life and build a new economy.

Article by US Airlines Award

Travel, especially by air has become increasingly expensive. US Airlines Award has been sending out Award Notification Letters to certain qualified individuals. Who wouldn’t appreciate a break in these trying economic times? Plenty of couples, families or really anyone, would love the chance to take a needed vacation. Perhaps a warm get away, a visit to family or friends or seeing sites long dreamed of is out of reach at the present time. Kindly, US Airlines has offered some assistance to such ones who qualify. People from all over the country have already received their US Airlines Award Notification Letter. The letter explains that the recipient can claim 2 airline tickets to anywhere in the USA. Many may be skeptical, and that is understandable. So feel free to do a little research before you commit yourself. Its a good rule of thumb anyway. Seeing as US Airlines Award Notification is not well known, they want to advertise their presence on the travel scene. It is their hope that recipients of the US Airlines Award will take advantage of the promotion and tell their friends and family. Essentially they are using customers to advertise. The procedure to claim your free tickets is simple and outlined in the letter. To receive the codes needed to redeem the free pair of tickets, a $ 25 fee is required. Simply call the ticketing agency and someone will be sure to help you. You are able to choose your seats and your destination (one that is on the US Airlines route). To receive your tickets, you may need to wait a couple of weeks.

Many people would have very good reasons for availing this free offer. You may be planning on a vacation for a very long time, or you might have a business travel requiring you to fly across the country. Or, you can use these for any type of emergencies that requires you to travel by air. In any case, the offer from the US Airlines Award Notification Letter allows you to save on airline travel, which is very expensive otherwise.

So, you might be thinking why US Airlines Award Notification is giving away free airline tickets. The main reason for doing this is because it is good for their business. Airlines are suffering from not being able to fill up seats. Customer loyalty for any carrier nowadays is at an all time low. To avert this situation, they provide discounted prices or free tickets. They are not losing money by doing this; it’s really quite effective for them. They are able to retain you as a customer, and they also gain new customers this way because of the free advertising they receive from positive feedback that they receive from customers who availed of this program. So, it’s actually a win-win situation for both the customer and US Airlines Award.

As with most offers that seem too good to be true, it is important to do your homework beforehand. We live in times that are difficult and many things are not what what they seem. Happily with the technology we have today, tools are available to help us make good decisions. Happy and safe travels to you- whether you pay for your airfare, or its awarded to you by the US Airlines Award Notification Letter.

Critics of the Grammy Awards bring attention to the notion with the intention of many musical myths were by no means awarded with Grammys, together with Jimi Hendrix and Led Zeppelin – as well as to the scheme with the intention of every now and then artists are nominated in categories with the intention of sort out not in fact suit the mode of their harmony, and with the intention of awards sort out not constantly gift pardon? They say they sort out. For insistence, while Best New Artist is described as a class to honor an actor or belt who released a key book throughout the year’s eligibility cycle with the intention of is commemorative of his/her/its communal identity, many onwards nominees say in fact released several albums former to their nominations in with the intention of class. Furthermore, as far as critics are concerned, the winners chosen say not constantly been indicative of artists with reference to to embark in the lead a lasting and meaningful harmony career, since simply as many of its winners say been fazed made known of the energy as say disappeared on to say lasting, amazing careers.

For insistence, in 1978, a in half a shake next to unremembered one-hit wonder assemble called Taste of Honey won Best New Artist more the in half a shake legendary Elvis Costello. Concerning 1980, Christopher Cross beat albums from Frank Sinatra, Barbara Streisand, and Pink Floyd meant for Album of the time, and took motherland four other awards with the intention of night while the still significant recording from Pink Floyd, The wall up, won lone single gift with the intention of time – meant for Best Engineered Album. And in 1991, Public Enemy, lone of the strike genre’s most primitive and generally respected trailblazers lost the gift meant for Best Rap Performance Duo or Group to D.J. Jazzy Jeff and the Fresh Prince.

These observations, and the verity with the intention of the majority of winners are, in verity, artists with vast profitable triumph throughout the acquaint with tense of the awards ceremony, hint critics to believe with the intention of the Grammys are more concerned with sales and communal popularity than with real artistic merit, as notable yet a reduced amount of prestigious artists are commonly overlooked. Despite these critiques, however, the Grammy Awards stay behind amongst the highest of all honors surrounded by the harmony affair.

Additionally, since the National Academy of Recording Arts and Sciences sort out not distribute the copies of the nominated recordings amongst its voting members both time, each time thousands of recordings should be voted in the lead by single the small quantity of voters who say in fact heard of them, or overlooked by the fat quantity of voters with the intention of by no means say. With votes being cast in categories by family who are not familiar with all of the category’s recordings, and with lobbying campaigns needing to get on to single a small effort to bearing a small quantity of voters in agreed categories, it is demanding meant for critics to deem the determination of the winners as necessarily fair to middling.

Most people nowdays like free music websites . However mp3 punjabi songs and new remix songs are very popular too.

Are you type of people who want to win an award to enjoy compliment and laurels? A wise person will say: it’s due to which award.

Everyone loves to win an award but sometimes you want to be careful of what you wish for because you may just get it. Winning an award is always fun and it is nice to be recognized. Maybe you won employee of the month at work or perhaps your civic work caused your community to recognize you with an outstanding citizen award. But not every award is one you want to put on your mantle and show off to your family and friends. There is a company in Upstate New York that has a bowling tournament every year. First place is a lovely golden bowling pin for the winner to proudly display. Last prize, and there is a last prize, is an old bowling shoe referred to as the Smelly Shoe Award.

An old smelly bowling shoe is not what you want sitting on the mantle at home. Of course it is all in fun but some awards and recognitions can be a little critical and sometimes downright mean.

Mr. Blackwell was a well-known fashion critic who released two lists every year that were highly anticipated. The first was the best-dressed celebrity list and to make it on that list meant a whole new level of recognition from the media and possible opportunities in show business. The other list was the top ten worst dressed celebrities and that was a list that usually meant you would find a rather unattractive picture of yourself in a national tabloid magazine. So Mr. Blackwell’s worst dressed celebrity is definitely not an award you want to win. But that pales in comparison to what the movie industry has to offer.

Few industries have as many awards as the movie industry. Between the Academy Awards, the Golden Globes, and the People’s Choice Awards there are hundreds of award winners every year in Hollywood and that does not count things like the Kids Choice Movie Awards or the MTV Movie Awards either. But as good as Hollywood can be at patting itself on the back there are always Hollywood outsiders who are willing to let Hollywood know that not every movie is an award winner. The desire to keep Hollywood in its place has spawned some funny trophies and award shows and the top funny Hollywood award show of them all is the Razzies.

The Razzies is short for the Golden Raspberry Award and it is given every year for the worst actors and worst movies Hollywood put out for the previous year. The trophy is a large golden raspberry and, needless to say, very few Hollywood celebrities show up to the ceremony each year to collect their award. In recent years Hollywood has been continually accused of having no worthwhile movies coming out and that has caused an increase in the media exposure of the Razzies and its accompanying ceremony every year. Many Oscar winning movies are awarded Razzies and it looks like the Razzies will be around for a very long time.

Article by Awards Intelligence

A unique NO WIN NO FEE awards entry service has been launched for organisations wanting to enter business awards that Awards Intelligence recommends for them as having a high probability of success. Many organisations feel they are doing great work and would love an expert to draft award entries for them but they don’t think they stand a realistic chance of winning, according to research undertaken by Awards Intelligence. The findings show that although organisations are happy to pay a fee to have their entries professionally drafted and the process managed for them, they are reluctant to do so unless they know they will definitely win.In the past there has been no real solution to this issue. We all want to have our cake and eat it. We only want to pay to enter competitions if we know we will win. But this has not been possible and has been considered unrealistic.

Now many top private, public and third sector organisations really can have their cake and eat it!

There are no catches. Awards Intelligence selects high profile awards that they believe an organisation has a great chance of winning based on their strengths. Awards Intelligence will then handle the entry process for them, including the drafting of the entry by their expert awards consultants. Organisations simply agree to pay a pre-agreed fee only once confirmation has been received that the award has been won. This service is available to organisations based anywhere in the world.

Mark Llewellyn-Slade, Managing Director, Awards Intelligence commented: “The No Win No Fee award entry service shifts the balance of risk away from our clients and puts it firmly on our shoulders. That’s great for our clients and also suits us as we are willing and able to put our money where our mouth is.”

How can Awards Intelligence making such a big commitment to an organisation for no guaranteed financial return?

Mark Llewellyn-Slade provided the answer: “Because we are the best at what we do and have done our homework. We have carefully analysed our success rates over the last couple of years and have identified some key trends. In summary, this means that we know which type of organisations tend to win which awards and what key traits these winning organisations have. This, coupled with our unrivalled ability to produce outstanding entries, means that we can take a very calculated risk.”

Mark Llewellyn-Slade concluded: “Organisations realise that winning business awards will raise their profile, enhance their reputation, help them to attract more business and ultimately help them to become more profitable. However, until now many have held back from entering because of the time and resource needed to draft the entries and the uncertainty over whether they will win. The No Win No Fee service addresses both these issues as we will professionally manage the entry process but only charge a fee if the organisation wins.”

Please call Awards Intelligence on 01444 242792 to discuss your specific award requirements or visit: http://www.awardsintelligence.co.uk for further information about Awards Intelligence and its full range of award entry services.
